Good questions.

Can tourists drive it? +

Yes. Visitors need a valid licence plus an International Driving Permit (or an accepted official translation, e.g. for some countries via JAF). An ordinary AT licence is all that's required.

How many people can sleep and ride? +

The van sleeps 5 (4 adults + 1 child) and has 6 seats with belts.

Is it hard to drive? +

It's larger than a regular car (about 5.0 m long, 2.9 m tall) but very manageable, with a back-up camera and a comfy driving position. Reviewers found it easy even on long, scenic mountain roads. If you're unsure, tell us and we'll talk it through at handover.

Where can we sleep overnight? +

At RV parks, campgrounds and designated car-stay spots (and many michi-no-eki roadside stations). We're happy to suggest good overnight stops along your route.

Can it handle winter and snow? +

Yes. It's a 6-tyre vehicle, so grip and stability are strong in winter, and it comes with studless winter tyres in season, a home A/C and a built-in under-seat heater. A cosy base for ski trips — it has handled heavy snow on real winter journeys.

Are pets allowed? +

Yes. Pets are welcome — just let us know when you book.

Is there really a kitchen onboard? +

Yes. There's a portable gas stove, sink, fridge and microwave. There's free Wi-Fi too, so you stay connected on the move. There is no toilet or shower onboard — we recommend you to use campsites, roadside stations, 24hr convenience stores and onsen stops along your route.

How far ahead should we book? +

Requests are accepted up to 2 days before pick-up, but popular dates (holidays, autumn leaves, ski season) fill fast, so message us early.

Where do we pick up, and is there delivery? +

Pick-up and return are at our base in Sakyo-ku, Kyoto. We don't offer delivery; self-pickup keeps your rate lower. See the Pick-up page for the map.
